Good Food Matters
About this provider
Good Food Matters is a small charity dedicated to supporting out local community to grow, cook and enjoy healthy, nutritious meals - giving children and young people in particular a vital understanding of what a balance diet looks like.
We want to turn the tide on the growing levels of childhood and adult obesity that is having devastating and long term impact on the health of the community and longer-term impact on public resources and individual quality of life.
Our small committed team of staff and volunteers offer a variety of food growing, nutrition and cookery courses to educate and train local people in sustainable food production; helping people to think global and act local e.g. recycling/beekeeping as well as promoting affordable, local healthy food to schools, other groups and further afield.
All this work leads to people enjoying improved health and wellbeing, which in turn reduces the likelihood of developing serious long-term/chronic conditions.
Our community food learning centre located in the middle of New Addington and Fieldway is unique fantastic holistic physical space with a 1.5 acre kitchen garden offering 'seed to table' with a purpose-built training kitchen, orchard, beehives, chicken coops and woodlands.
