Purley Cross Centre
About this provider
The Purley Cross Centre is a Community Hub project that equips its service users with relevant and appropriate information, training and advice and guidance. It offers an accessible service to members of the local community and surrounding areas, all year round - Mondays to Fridays - to support them towards living independent, healthy and productive lives. The Centre aims to provide an effective service to members of the community, including those who are vulnerable, to tackle social isolation and inequality, enhance financial resilience and digital skills, and improve mental health.
It welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds within the Borough of Croydon. The services offered cover a diverse range of subjects such as housing, finance, health and wellbeing, family, leisure, legal and employment. Clients are directed to appropriate services through partnerships with charities and agencies.
The Centre hosts a variety of onsite clinics - counselling, nailcutting (Age UK), South London and Maudsley (SLAM), Tax Help, and legal services including family law. The Centre also delivers its own in-house courses - Computer Training, English as a Second Language (ESOL) and a Community Workshops Programme.
