Mears also help hospital patients return home to a safer environment.

The Handyperson Service, the Gas Service and the Handrail Service is free to people who are referred to Mears by a hospital professional. It is also free to people over 60 who receive either Council Tax Reduction or Pension Credit. Those who receive DLA, Homecare or Attendance Allowance will receive the Handyperson labour for free.

Mears can still assist people who do not receive benefits, however there will be a small fee for labour and materials.
